OYO 90474 Caravan Camp

After Apache Camp, I moved to Chikar. This room was more spacious and comfortable, and the floor wasn’t damp. But the gas had run out, so there was no hot water when I went to shower in the morning. I looked for staff at 6 a.m. and they still weren’t around. It was so cold that I skipped the shower. Breakfast wasn’t included either.

It’s cheap and has hot water, but the setting really feels like camping. Good for people who love being surrounded by nature, less so if you don’t like the smell of wet soil and trees. I arrived around 7 or 8 pm on my first stay, and honestly it felt scary 🥲. There were no lights for about 250m from the tourist entrance to the hotel, so we rode using only the motorbike lights. Forest all around, with nobody in sight. Maybe it wouldn’t feel as scary with a crowd there, but it was just me and my husband 🥲. If you like challenging places, this could suit you 🙂

We arrived in the rain after booking through the Oyo app and got a side room rather than one facing the front. It was the largest room, but really bad. The base was dirty, a bit mossy, and we prayed on a bad mattress. The mattress was VERY DIRTY AND DAMAGED, the sheets looked like they hadn’t been changed, and the room smelled unpleasant. My wife even slept fully dressed and wearing her hijab so her skin wouldn’t touch the mattress. There was also a gap in the ceiling between the room and bathroom that was so big insects got in. We asked to move, but every room was booked. I considered finding somewhere else, but the rain kept going until evening, and we were on a motorbike with lots of stuff, two side boxes and one top box that had to be taken apart. Aside from the bad room, I had no other problems. I really liked the atmosphere and surroundings.

The atmosphere is great for relaxing and refreshing, as young people say, haha. The building I got had a door that was supposed to be on the side, the mattress was too soft to sleep comfortably on, and the TV wouldn’t connect to HDMI. Maybe add a toilet mat and clean the floor so guests don’t have to walk around in sandals. It all gets a bit boring.
