Pondok Nyoman Bedugul

I’d stayed here before and thought it was one of the best places I’d ever been, but it’s unfortunately changed. The place is mouldy, and the rooms reek of strong detergent, probably to cover the mould. The smell was catastrophic, and this is the only place I’ve ever left early. They really need new beds and bedding. Otherwise, it’s an amazing place. There’s also an overly friendly cat, which could be a pro or a con.

I found this place while looking for a hotel during the busy New Year holiday period, and the price wasn’t too high. The garden, fish ponds, traditional artsy feel, furniture and all the seating areas were lovely. There were lots of charging points, which helped since we were travelling while working. It was very quiet apart from one morning when loud construction next to our room was a bit bothersome. The room was nice, the bed clean, and the bathroom was good. Hot water worked, the shampoo and soap were great, and the hairdryer worked too. The people were so kind and treated us well. Even when we came back late from work, they got up to open the gate. There were friendly cats and dogs around as well. We had to leave early, so there were more things we wanted to try. Maybe next time we’ll come back.

The garden and flowers, the views, the location, and the breakfast area were all phenomenal. On arrival, the woman tried to put us in a smaller, dirtier room than the one we had booked, but it was sorted out without any trouble. We ended up having a great stay.

It was a very quiet hotel, surrounded by nature and its sounds, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean, and my son was happy playing with the cute puppies and cats. From the hotel, you can see mountains and rice terraces. I also liked the location, about 20 minutes from the lake and waterfall. I’ll definitely come back.
