Splash Hotel

This is one of Bengkulu's newer-generation business hotels. The staff were nice, efficient, clean and friendly. It's not too far from the iconic FORT MARLBOROUGH and the very famous PANTAI PANJANG.

The breakfast had limited variety and quantity. As for the room, I booked non-smoking but was given a smoking room. The room boy brought air freshener after I complained, but it did nothing to clear the smoke smell. When I raised it again, the receptionist asked who I had spoken to during booking and said all rooms are non-smoking, but guests could smoke if they opened the window. I'd never heard such a weird definition of smoking and non-smoking rooms. After more discussion and complaints, they finally moved me to a proper deluxe non-smoking room and upgraded me.

There isn't much to see nearby, though a favorite local place to eat is right next to the hotel. It's a fairly nice, new hotel. There's no elevator, but the staff are happy to help. The room facilities were okay, but when I stayed the smell of fresh paint was unpleasant, though it should have gone by now. No Wi-Fi.

The hotel sits in central Bengkulu, near well-known restaurants and food courts, but traffic outside is heavy. My room was fairly small, with few amenities and old bedding and furniture. The AC, toilet, and shower equipment were poorly maintained.
