The place looks clean and cozy in the photos and has big rooms for about 120,000 Rupiah each, but the hotel felt spooky as soon as I checked its website. I came with a group of about 25, and there were problems throughout the property. The hotel is large, with entrances and exits on several sides, and it seems poorly maintained. Ceilings are broken, while damp or leaking walls and ceilings in rooms let water drip onto the floor and mattresses. Faucets and toilet flushes were broken, and leaks affected several rooms. Some air conditioners didn’t work properly, leaving rooms musty or smelling of urine. There are few amenities. They provide just one towel, and you have to ask for more. The furniture is old, and the beds and mattresses vary between rooms, which makes them uncomfortable to look at. Security also seemed very vulnerable, with balconies overlooking the garden and open hallways leading to it. The CCTV was either missing or not working. During our stay, someone broke into a guest’s room and stole two iPhones, an Android phone, and a wallet with cash and valuables. The hotel staff seemed indifferent and took no action or reported it to the police. Neither management nor staff appeared willing to take responsibility. We looked into it ourselves and found the balcony window had no lock. The person who stole the items seemed to know the situation, so we suspect someone on the inside may have been involved. Although the hotel is not far from the Bengkulu Police Station, filing a robbery report can take a long time. Tourists or other visitors may feel short on time or not want the hassle, something unscrupulous people could understand and take advantage of. Wherever you stay, keep alert. Lock your bedroom doors and windows before bed. When entering a room, close the windows and gaps, then turn off the lights so it is as dark as possible. Look for any visible light that could reveal peepholes or hidden cameras. There are unscrupulous people around.

The rooms are spacious, the water was good, and the setup felt modern. The staff were friendly too. At first, though, I was uneasy about the hotel. There were lots of dry, dirty leaves and a big tree out front, and the inside of my room seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned often. The floor was dusty, so I cleaned it myself before praying. Later I went out and saw that the hallway floor had been cleaned, which was nice. The area outside no longer seemed scary and looked well kept. With all that space, it’s a good fit for families.
