The Benoa Beach Front Villas & Spa

We found it calm and relaxing, with the beach very close and a restaurant and pool right by the shore. The rooms were clean, and the villas, though a bit old, seemed reasonably well maintained. Staff were friendly. The tap water is salty, and the outdoor shower may run slowly from a clog, though that depends on your preferences. I wasn't fully comfortable leaving valuables in the room because the back door didn't close properly, but there is a small safe. Would recommend the hotel.

We had a good, relaxing stay with friendly staff, a well-kept resort, and delicious breakfast. We picked it because it's right on the beach. The old-fashioned rooms were cosy and clean, though they could use some improvement. Our room phone didn't work and there was no hot water, but the open shower helped me unwind after a stressful day. I was there with friends for four days and three nights.

It was better two years ago. Breakfast needs work, and dinner could be improved too, though there are good restaurants nearby. Room 25 was spacious, but the air conditioning blew straight onto the bed, which made sleeping uncomfortable. There were no curtains over the bed, so bugs got to us every night. The shower wasn't very clean, and there were moisture marks on the ceiling.

The room looked quiet and very spacious, with a pretty garden near the sea, so we booked after seeing it. The beds were awful, old, uncomfortable, and noisy, and our backs hurt from them. We had already tried changing rooms two days earlier, and when we decided to leave, reception didn't ask why. The pool itself was fine, but there were no towels, and I saw rats running in and out nearby. Restaurant staff weren't nice, breakfast took 20 minutes, and you order from a menu with no selection. WiFi was very poor, and the tap water was salty. At checkout, they charged us for an extra night as a cancellation fee without having told us about it. I had to ask what the charge was. They offered to arrange a car to Ubud for 500 000, though Grab showed 340 000.
