ZEN Rooms By Pass Nusa Dua

We chose this place because we wanted to stay near the beach and surf in Bali at an OK price. Searching Google Maps for hotels around Nusa Dua brought up a ZEN hotel at a reasonable rate, so I selected it, booked and paid, then took a Bluebird taxi there with my girlfriend. At reception they couldn’t find our booking, and the conversation was frustrating because they spoke very little English. A few minutes later we figured out the booking was for a different ZEN hotel, in the middle of Den pasar, far from the beach and nowhere near where we wanted to stay. I don’t blame the reception staff. It seems the ZEN website can be confusing: you pick a hotel on Google Maps, go to its homepage, click “book hotel” on the first page, and end up booking a completely different one. We called ZEN customer service and asked to switch to the ZEN hotel we were standing at, but they refused. I should have paid closer attention while booking, and I don’t think ZEN is a scam, but the site is confusing and the customer service is bad. We won’t consider another ZENhotel.

The room was nice for the cheap price, and the beach wasn’t too far away. I liked this hotel.

It’s affordable. That’s about all it has going for it.
