Asana Biak Papua Hotel

The balcony off the spacious superior room faces straight out to sea, and the views are breathtaking. The room also has a fair number of amenities. Asana Biak Papua by Aerowisata is in a very convenient spot near Frans Kaisepo Airport, and the service was very good. Still, there’s a lot to improve: almost everything is covered in fungi, so management should look at painting the walls and ceiling. We called the restaurant to order a pizza but got no confirmation from the person who answered, and it turned out the food was delivered to another room. Despite that, it was a pleasant stay. Getting outside food is difficult since it’s far away, so you’ll need a taxi or a rental car or motorbike. The front desk can arrange one easily. Ask for a 12-hour half-day rental to save money. There’s free airport pickup, too. The setting is lovely, with lawns, plants, birds, and an infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The staff and location were lovely, but the rooms and bathrooms are a bit rundown, and the food isn’t the best.

Book ahead, since they’re often full. The rooms are clean, have Wi-Fi and a terrace, and the price feels completely justified. Staff speak English and provide outstanding service. It’s about a five-minute walk from the airport, with beach access and a beautiful sea view. The only hotel in Biak with an infinity pool overlooking the sea, and no doubt the best one here.

It’s close to some tourist spots, a mall, and an airport. The hotel was clean and stylish, with spacious rooms and excellent service. My room was comfortable and well equipped, and the beach scenery all around was exceptional.
