RedDoorz Plus @ Bitung City Center

The room is big, and the desk is useful if you need to get work done. But the cigarette smell had seeped through the whole building, including the sheets and pillows. It was disgusting, and I could barely breathe in the room. I'd thought my childhood asthma was behind me until I came here.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and the parking area felt safe, with plenty of space and 24-hour security. The hotel is on the second floor of the PLC Building. There's a cafe on the first floor and a multipurpose hall on the third. It's the cleanest and most comfortable hotel I've found in Bitung city.

All the staff were friendly and helpful, and there's an Ojek spot across the street, so you don't need online transport as much. A short trip is around IDR 7k. For the price, this is a pretty great place to stay. The room was clean, parking was spacious, laundry on the ground floor was cheap, and there was a hot water dispenser in the corridor plus a water jug in the room. They even provide a step ladder that doubles as a chair and helps you reach the top shelf of the dresser. A couple of things could be better. The shower heads for hot and cold water are separate. My west-facing room had a blackout curtain that didn't block the light, so it got quite hot near sunset. The walls are thin, and the convention hall on the third floor is often used for weddings. Expect plenty of people in the corridor during one. I stayed 11 days and there were two weddings.

The site said checkout was at 12:00, but they asked me to leave at 10:00. At 6:00 in the morning, the receptionist was chasing me around to get me to pay for another night.
