The surprise extra charge came before I could even occupy the room. They asked me for 50 thousand, with the reason given in his WA communication, so anyone arriving short on cash should be ready to pay upfront. The room was decent, with air conditioning and a private bathroom with hot water. Parking inside the complex felt very secure for both cars and motorcycles, and you can bring a motorcycle inside without getting wet. What made the stay miserable was cigarette smoke drifting into my room from inconsiderate guests. The app showed a cheap price, but on arrival they wanted almost half that amount extra, supposedly because I arrived early and there was no one to guard me. That’s nowhere near reasonable. If I’m asked for more money again, I’ll definitely come back, and it’ll affect the rest of my review. Unprofessional. Other places offer rooms at the price shown in the app.

For roughly 100,000, I’d say it’s decent value. The room had two single beds with covers, AC, a TV, a plastic cupboard, a sink, a free towel, and a small tube of shampoo and soap combined. It smelled like Gatsby. In the bathroom there was a sitting toilet, shower, bucket, and a hose faucet for cleaning, whatever that’s called. The signal was the main problem: it was weak, and the TV kept showing “no signal” every few seconds. The room wasn’t soundproof, but the accommodation was fairly spacious and quiet when I was there, so it didn’t bother me, hehe.

I paid through Agoda, but on arrival the guard told me the boss wanted another Rp 35,000. I’d never booked and paid through the app before, so getting asked for an extra fee was strange. When I requested a cancellation and refund, the guard said, “The boss finally let me in.” That boss seems more suited to being a thug than a businessman.
