Sudirman Boutique Room

The breakfast was good, though it wasn’t some great buffet. That was the only positive for me. The room was small, the Wi-Fi signal was weak, and it was seriously unclean. The TV only had four channels, with a poor picture, and we had a couple of blackouts too.

Don’t trust the photos in the Airyroom app. They gave me a misleading impression, and I’d never recommend this place to you or anyone else. The room I booked had a window that wouldn’t open, an air conditioner with no remote, a water heater that didn’t work, and a lamp that couldn’t be switched back on once turned off. The building is old and needs a lot of renovation and maintenance. The walls are thin, so outside noise carries right into the room. Breakfast was only fried rice. Guests could smoke whenever they wanted, even though staff said the hotel was non-smoking.

It’s cheap, so you get what you pay for. The furniture was old and dirty, and the complimentary breakfast was poor in both quality and quantity. The buffet looked like they’d gone as cheap as possible. When the plates ran out, a rude food runner told a confused customer to get one from the storage underneath the buffet.

I left a day early, and they don’t refund cancellations or changes. The place looked okay from the street, but inside it was a dump, definitely not a boutique hotel. The walls, bathroom, and other surfaces were extremely dirty. The bed was clean, but there was just a blanket and no top sheet. Though breakfast was meant to run from 7 to 9, it was mostly gone by 7:20. Water dripped from the air conditioner onto the tile floor, which seemed potentially deadly. The stairs were steep and potentially lethal, and the large windows were screwed shut, potentially dangerous in a fire. I couldn’t get the shower working, so I washed with a mandi bucket.
