Eastern Hotel Bojonegoro

The room and bathroom were a good size, the bed was comfortable, the pool was pleasant and cozy, and the staff were friendly. But there was hair on the pillowcases, bedsheet, and in the bathroom when we checked in. They cleaned it after we reported it, and replaced our dirty cups. One towel also had a few drops of blood. The hotel should check that everything is clean and tidy before guests arrive, instead of having to sort these things out afterward.

There’s no refrigerator in the room, no gym, and the restaurant doesn’t serve alcohol. Still, the hotel is newly built and very well soundproofed. I checked the water filter every day and found the water very clean. Housekeeping was excellent, the pool was big and nice, and the staff were very friendly, with almost everyone able to speak English. There’s a non-automatic bidet in the bathroom, and they accept card payments, including Amex. If you want a quiet place to relax, this could be a good choice 😉

I stayed for one night. The room was clean and had a good view near the Hospital, though the hallway on the 8th floor leading to it was kind of hot.

I booked through Agoda, but the hotel hadn’t received the confirmation email when I arrived. I waited about 30 minutes for the room key, then was told to wait in my room even though the email still hadn’t arrived. I contacted Agoda customer service from there, they resent it, and I was finally able to pay for the room. I’d picked this hotel while looking for somewhere nice in Bojonegoro. It was cheaper than As*ton despite having a higher star rating, so I expected a lot. The room was clean and neat, with a fluffy bed and two pillows per bed: one very fluffy and one larger, more basic pillow that worked as a bolster. The AC worked, but didn’t get very cold even set to 16°C. There was a TV with some channels, around 10 of them international, plus two bottles of water, tea and coffee, and basic toiletries including soap, shampoo, a hair dryer, and a towel. The sandals were disappointing, just plain sandals without the hotel’s name. There are meeting rooms, a restaurant, a pool, a pool bar, and a club that was under construction. The pool seemed rather small, maybe 5m x 15m, and there’s a shower room nearby. Since only 6 people had booked at the time, the breakfast selection was limited. It was basic but included toast, cereal, sweets, juice, dimsum, eggs, and some traditional dishes. I tried the toast, cereal, and dimsum, and they were okay. The staff were friendly and somewhat helpful, but there’s no bellboy, so you have to carry your own things. It was okay for a 4-star hotel, though a bit expensive for what you get. At 100-200 thousands rupiah less, it would have been a 10/10 for me. For the price as it was, I’d give it 7/10.
