We booked through booking.com and had no problems, unlike some reviews below. The room was clean and nice, with free tea, coffee, and water. We were able to dry laundry in the yard too. The host speaks very little English, but helped us find a rental scooter. Nothing fancy, just good value for the price. We’d come back.

We booked and paid for two rooms with two beds for three people, but on arrival the host said we’d booked one room for three and insisted we pay extra for another. Our confirmation clearly said a house with two rooms and two beds. In the end, we got one bed and a mattress on the floor in the same room. He said there was an error on our phone, then showed us his own phone, which also showed the booking as two rooms. Still, he wouldn’t admit there was a mistake and kept asking for more money for the other room. When we asked for a refund so we could find somewhere else, he refused and kept making excuses, even though there were TWO EMPTY ROOMS and an entire EMPTY HOUSE available. It was incredibly frustrating dealing with someone I found dishonest and unhelpful. The Wi-Fi in the room was awful, and there were no towels or basic toiletries. The host didn’t seem interested in resolving things and just made the situation harder. Don’t book here. This was the worst host experience I’ve had in Indonesia. Save your money and peace of mind.

I’ve stayed here eight times, whenever I come to Bukittinggi, and I’ve brought my four kids. It feels as comfortable as home, and I highly recommend it. God willing, it’ll last forever. T4 is a big no for me.
