My husband and I really like the building and its architecture. I’d visited a few times a long time ago, and it still looks much the same. It has an antique, distinctive feel, being an old building with a foreign style, unlike other hotels in town. The room was okay, very clean, and pretty comfortable to me.

The breakfast was ordinary, and the small dining area got crowded. The room was dark, and neither the TV nor the phone worked. There was also loud singing that disturbed our privacy, and even after we complained, nobody did anything. An unexpected experience for a four-star hotel. (Malaysia)

The building is beautiful and authentic, and the room was very comfortable, if a little old. We arrived on Friday, and the receptionist let us check in before 12am. Jam Gadang and nearby attractions are less than a five-minute walk away, right in the heart of Bukittinggi. Breakfast had a good variety and tasted good. Staying here had been a dream of mine, and I hope I can come back someday.

I’ve stayed here twice with my family. The hotel’s name has changed, but the facilities and service are still the same as before. Rooms and bathrooms have complete facilities, and there’s also a swimming pool, spa, and gym. The staff are friendly and responsive, and breakfast is tasty with plenty of variety. It’s kid friendly, though wheelchair access is difficult. The parking area is fairly spacious, and the hotel is conveniently close to the market. The music corner in the restaurant bar can be annoying. Maybe it was because we were there on a holiday, but the music and singing after the evening break disturbed me. The room also didn’t seem soundproof, so it was noisy. Still, I like the hotel.
