I’m staying here with clients who have some specific requests, and the staff have helped me a lot. The service is top notch, which earns the five stars from me. The Wi-Fi is weak, especially in the room. I had a standard room and couldn’t connect there at all, so I had to go outside. Breakfast could use improvement too, especially the rice.

Even though I checked in around 4-5 PM, the room had no mineral water, towels, coffee or tea, toothpaste or toothbrush. Hotel slippers are optional, but those were missing too. Poor you, Morowali Beach Hotel. 🫵🏻

The outdoor breakfast area right by the beach was a highlight, with a lovely view of the sea and mangroves. The buffet was quite simple: fried fish with flour, stir-fried tempeh, vegetable soup, white rice, and white bread with jam, plus a toaster. The suite interior seemed relatively new, the bed was soft, and there was a mini fridge, though I couldn’t find a complimentary toothbrush. There’s also restaurant room service. Parking is spacious, security is on duty 24 hours, and a generator is ready for power cuts. The lobby has enough room, and check-in and checkout were quick and easy. Rates are high but still affordable, and felt worth it for the sea view. Recommended for visitors to Morowali.

The dining room has an impressive view of the ocean, and the building looked new. I was there on a business trip and found the room decent, but the TV only worked if I supplied my own HDMI cable and laptop with its own power supply, or brought a TV box to use with the hotel Wi-Fi.
