Apa Kabar Villas

The beachfront rooms are nice and have good facilities, with a good coffee shop out front, an okay restaurant, and parking in front. It's a nice place, which makes the slack staff a pity. They sat around on their phones, the room wasn't cleaned, and drinking water wasn't replenished.

For such a low price, we really had no complaints about our stay at Apa Kabar. The hotel is older, but the value is hard to beat. Staff were very nice, the room was cleaned every day, and the pool was a lot of fun. There's decent snorkeling right in front, too. Our boys slept in the loft of our one room cottage. It got a little hot, but they were fine with the fan. Breakfast was included and was fine. We also arranged bike rentals and laundry at the hotel for really cheap rates.

This was my third trip to Apa Kabar, and I'll be back. There's plenty of off road parking, and the beach is very clean and well maintained, with good snorkeling just offshore. The cafe has been renovated and has a very Italian feel, and the coffee is excellent. The villas, decor, staff, and service match what the website describes. Staff are extremely helpful and friendly.

It looks amazing when you first arrive, but soon you realize you're not within walking distance of anything, and every room seems to have something wrong. There's a mosquito problem, no hot water, and the fridge didn't work. I went fishing and brought back one fish to cook, but Apa Kabar completely ruined it. When I asked to speak to the manager, they refused, saying they would have been fired. I kept quiet at the time, but I have so many complaints about this place that I wouldn't recommend it. That's hard for me to say.
