Beten Waru

We only stayed one night, and the price seemed to match the condition of the place. The location is gorgeous, and a few boys helped take our luggage to the room, but that was about it. There was barely any toilet paper left on the roll. It's extremely basic. The guests next door said they arrived to a room that hadn't been prepared, with things and mess from the people before them. A good cleaner could work wonders here.

This was the creepiest hotel I've stayed in in Bali. The reality was so different from the positive reviews. There were spiders in the room corners, and a bird that had a nest inside flew into the bathroom while I showered. I ended up washing with the bird watching me. The floor was dusty, and though they cleaned the visible parts, there was lots of dirt and dust under the bed. The whole room smelled awful from the moment I walked in, and the white curtain had yellow stains. I lasted five hours before leaving. Unbearable.

It was so peaceful here, and the people were lovely. From the bungalow you could watch the sunrise, with mountains on one side and the ocean on the other; at night, ship lights brightened the water. The bungalows are nice, and most snorkeling spots are nearby. You can rent bikes right there for a very affordable price. Breakfast had a good selection, and there were a few friendly cats around too. It felt like being right in the middle of nature.

I wouldn't recommend staying here long. There was dust all over the room, even on the bed, and the only thing provided was a towel, no bottled water or other complimentary items. I stayed one night, checked out early because I couldn't stay any longer, and moved to another homestay. For the price, it felt expensive for a two-star place without extras; the other homestay was cheaper and included more.
