The staff have been really, really good, and I’d happily stay here again at this price. It’s set up a hill, with bungalow-style rooms reached by steps. My room is a good size, with a comfortable bed, a good shower, and a mosquito net. There’s a balcony and I can see the ocean from it. I chose a fan room, which is fine this time of year in the wet season. In my opinion, you’ll need a scooter in Amed.

The owners were so friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast was delicious. We loved staying at this beautiful homestay, especially the amazing sunrise view. It’s basic, but has what you need if you’re in Amed for scuba training or to visit different beaches. Great value!

For €5 per person, we got a decent room with a lovely sea view, and the price felt incredibly fair. Breakfast was included, tasty, and a good size. They also sorted onward transport for 250k and a scooter rental for 60k, easily and inexpensively. Highly recommend.

I usually prefer to leave a positive review, but I think an honest account could help anyone considering this guesthouse. There were some good points: the location, included breakfast, hot water, and Katu, who was helpful. But the room and facilities were quite old and poorly maintained, caterpillars kept getting into my room, and the owner was cold toward me. The listing said my standard room had AC, but it didn’t. When I asked to move, I was told I could change rooms if I paid an extra 80k per night for one with AC, so I stayed in the room without it that first night. I barely slept because the mattress and pillows were covered in mold. The next morning I asked either to change rooms or get a refund so I could leave. The owner spoke to me on the phone and said he couldn’t refund me because Trip.com hadn’t paid him yet. He also said it was my problem and that he’d never heard this kind of complaint from a guest before. Since we weren’t face to face and he didn’t seem to understand the condition of the room, I asked if he could at least come and look. He asked why he should come, said he’d already offered the only solution, no refund or pay another 80k to change rooms, and insisted that was all. That solution worked only for him, not for me. I’ve traveled and lived in many countries since 2008, and I understand and respect cultural differences, different perceptions, climates, and so on. I don’t expect everything to be perfect, but acceptance and compromise matter. The communication this time was neither smooth nor kind. There was no compromise or apology, and his words left me feeling blamed, sad, and uncomfortable. The one thing I’m grateful for is that Katu, who works here, tried to listen and help me feel heard. I appreciated your kindness and the way you treated me. Sorry this is such a long review. I hope my words help make the future better, so guests can have a good stay in beautiful Amed. Wishing you all the best, and sending love and light. Matur Suksuma✨🙏✨

The view was the real highlight, though the free breakfast with fresh juice was a nice bonus. The owners were lovely, kind, and very helpful with arranging scooter and snorkel hire. We had a really pleasant stay.
