Alam Candi Resort

The one drawback during our stay was having no beach access while the boardwalk is under construction through the end of 2027. That isn’t the hotel’s fault, but reaching the sea meant a 20 minute drive to Virgin beach. Even so, Alam Candi Seaview is magnificent, right on the ocean. The hotel itself is gorgeous, with lovely details, very comfortable and adorable rooms, delicious food, and staff who deserve more than five stars. We had a wonderful stay and hated to leave. One of the best in Candidasa!

The outdoor-style bathroom was wonderful, and although our room was small, it had enough space for what we needed. The resort is tucked down a laneway, so it’s peaceful and quiet, with the Lotus Ponds and good places to eat nearby. The grounds are beautifully kept, and I paid extra for a flower bath that was the best I’ve ever had. Everyone on staff was lovely. The pool and restaurant look out over the ocean, which was especially lovely at sunset. There’s work happening at the front of the resort, but it didn’t cause us any problems. I’m looking forward to coming back once the footpath is finished.

Even with the pedestrian project underway, we could enjoy the beach and the surrounding area. Our one night here gave me a chance to recharge. The restaurant was great, and Arik looked after us with a kind, friendly smile. She treated us just as warmly as local guests.

We booked three of the villa-style houses for our family and spent 10 days here. Each had a large bed, fridge, safe and air conditioning, and they were well furnished and comfortable. The private outdoor bathrooms were one of the most distinctive parts of our stay. The grounds felt like a little jungle, green, quiet and relaxing. There’s a large, clean pool with sunbeds, and you can swim in the ocean beside the resort. The restaurant and bar next to the pool made it easy to settle in and enjoy the atmosphere. Staff were very polite and spoke good English. We also had a massage at the resort, much better than the street massages in town. Every morning we looked forward to coffee with an ocean view. The price felt absolutely fair, and if we return to Bali, we’d choose this place again without hesitation.
