A mini mart is very close by, and the staff were good. We only needed to ask them for an iron and extra towels. The bathroom is clean and rustic, though there isn’t a separate shower and toilet area. I loved the interior design, which felt like a refreshing change from the usual minimalist villas. The bed on the mezzanine was comfortable and gave the room something unique. Everything was very clean and tastefully furnished. The forest-like surroundings open onto rice fields, and the pool view over the fields was lovely. I’d definitely return when I’m in Canggu again.

There can be insects now and then, which is expected when you’re staying among rice fields. Grun provides effective body repellent spray and will help remove insects if needed. I do think the rooms could be maintained more regularly so they always look perfectly clean. We stayed in Studio N with Private Pool, also known as Studio Agung. It was spacious and well equipped, with a stove and cooking utensils, a blender, and even a blender for baby food (MPASI). The full glass windows let us enjoy the rice field view, while the air conditioning and ceiling fan kept the room comfortable. Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, so working from the room was easy. There was also a BBQ set, a campfire setup, and a speaker for music by the pool or while relaxing. The bathroom was clean and well maintained, with all the amenities provided. Hot water adjusted quickly, without a long wait when changing the temperature. We were warmly welcomed by the staff, and appreciated being offered an upgrade due to certain circumstances. The location is a little tucked away, which makes it peaceful and quiet. We had a splendid stay at Grun Canggu, and I’d happily recommend it to friends and family. I’d love to return.

We loved the cats around the property and enjoyed feeding and taking care of them. Our room was clean and spacious, and the room service was immaculate. One night, people in a neighbouring unit were making a lot of noise around 10-11pm and later. Before I went over to ask them to keep it down, a staff member had already stepped in and asked them to be considerate. Kudos to them. We had a fantastic stay and hope to come back soon!

The jungle garden view really adds to the experience. I loved the bed, which gave the stay a glamping feel, and staying in a treehouse was such an interesting experience. Loved it.
