Kano Canggu

The one small downside was that the room lighting was a little dim at night. Other than that, the hotel was amazing, and this was the best stay of my two weeks in Bali. I spent 4 nights at Kano Canggu. It’s close to cafes, restaurants, local food, a gym, and fitness studio. Both the shared areas and room were very clean, the bathroom spacious, and housekeeping did a proper, efficient job keeping my room tidy. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool isn’t big, but it’s enough to chill and enjoy the Bali vibes.

The young guys running the place were very nice, and I couldn’t fault how helpful the staff were. I stayed for three nights in an immaculate, clean, spacious, comfortable room. The villa is down a quiet lane that felt really safe. There’s construction across the road, but the room comes with earplugs and the noise wasn’t terrible. It would probably be less noticeable in a room at the back of the villa. What you see is what you get. I didn’t give it five stars because my room near the front entrance was a bit uncomfortable for me as an introvert. Every room has a huge glass wall and doors, with big curtains, and everyone had to walk past mine to reach theirs. I could shut the curtain, sure, but then I’d be sitting in the dark, since there are no other windows or light sources apart from the lights. As a solo female traveller, I couldn’t fully relax. I’d come back in the afternoon and make awkward eye contact with people arriving while I was lying on the bed, and when it poured, staff would hang out in the hallway in front of the room. The villa may well be five stars for rooms at the back. If you’re like me, ask for one further back, or don’t book the last room. If privacy doesn’t matter much to you, go for it.

The staff were absolutely lovely, warm, welcoming, and incredibly kind. Their hospitality really made a difference. The rooms were spacious and clean, and I especially liked the bathroom and the large room mirror. I’d personally add some thin curtains. Villa Kano is tucked off the main street on a side road, so it’s quiet while still being central, close to the beach and all the cool spots. If noise bothers you, they provide free earplugs in the room ⭐️ Highly recommended!

The villa is very clean and modern, and looks nice. The location is excellent and the staff are super lovely. At check-in you also get a whole coconut as a welcome drink, which was a really nice touch. It’s a small house with about 6 rooms, all facing inward toward the courtyard, so there’s very little privacy and it has a bit of a luxury-hostel feel. There are no TVs in the rooms, and the pool area is very small. It’s probably a good fit if you don’t mind limited privacy and expect to spend most of your time out and about.
