I paid in full for a five-night booking through Agoda, but didn’t use the stay because I became medically unfit to travel. I provided medical evidence and first asked to cancel with a refund. I didn’t know rescheduling was possible then. Once I learned about it, I contacted The Chill House Hotel again and asked to move the stay two weeks later because I still wanted to visit. They cancelled the booking outright, sticking to their cancellation policy. Given the medical circumstances, I felt there was no flexibility or attempt to find another option. I understand policies exist, but good customer service should show compassion in genuine medical situations. I got no refund, and the money was wasted. This left me with a very negative impression of their customer service and lack of empathy.

They wanted nearly 1 million rupiah per night in extra charges, on top of the price I booked at. For seven nights that would be 7 million, enough for me to buy a round-trip Bali to Australia ticket. This place wasn’t even that great. Don’t stay here if you don’t want to get scammed. It’s shameful for such a beautiful tourist destination as Bali. Save your money for somewhere else.

The Chill House in Canggu has a cozy design and lots of greenery that gives it a tropical feel. It’s in a calm area, yet still close enough to the cafes, restaurants, beach, and main Canggu spots. I had a good short getaway there, though nothing extraordinary.

Be careful! They confirm your booking, then ask for more money, citing peak season and other excuses. If I don’t pay, they say they’ll cancel it. SCAM!!!

Staff and everyone there weren’t helpful, they just wanted money. I booked a three-bedroom villa for two nights, and the booking had been confirmed since the previous month. Then they suddenly demanded an extra 900,000 Rupiah per night, 1.8 million total, which was even more than I’d paid on Booking.com. They said they would cancel if I didn’t pay, when I couldn’t easily find another villa that day. Worst experience in Bali, ever. Totally SCAM BUSINESS.
