Villa Katrin - Canggu

We were really happy with our stay at Villa Avanti. The manager was very nice, and the daily cleaning was thorough throughout the house and around the outdoor pool. The food places and massage they suggested were great too. The one small drawback is the location: the alley is narrow and some cab drivers have trouble finding it.

We arrived in Canggu around 3 pm and couldn’t reach anyone in charge. We waited four hours for the host to open the villa, only to find at 7 pm that other guests had already checked in. We missed our dinner reservation, and one of my friends was hit by a motorbike as we rushed back after the host called. We thought it would be sorted quickly, but the people involved kept passing responsibility around until midnight, then gave us an answer we weren’t satisfied with. We’d paid in full, about 2xxx Ringgit Malaysia for two nights, around six months earlier, so we asked for one night’s payment back. Management said they needed to discuss it with the team, leaving us to wait until the next morning. At first they offered 3,000,000 (IDR), which we all agreed to, but an hour later they changed it to a 20% discount for one night. That felt ridiculous and unfair. We argued until we gave up. Our trip was spoiled, and we’re disappointed with the management. We’ll never stay here again. Choose your villa WISELY. Bad experience.

The villa was spotless, and the staff made us feel so welcome. There were lots of beautiful corners for photos, which made our stay memorable.

Those mother cat and babies needed help, they weren’t pets. I can’t understand your staff hiding behind a no pet policy instead of helping them. Only one night?! Shame on people who put real estate before life 🥲
