Grand Desa Resort

I had to move to another hotel for the first time in my life. The staff did change my room, and I appreciate that, but the replacement was just as bad or worse for cleanliness. The videos show how insane and disgusting it was. My room was in what looked like an old building, while the photos on Traveloka, booking, and other sites are of the new buildings. It's hard to understand how the place has a rating above four stars.

The location was just what I wanted for surfing, and I had a great time with the amazing staff and nice food. I stayed at Grand Desa for 10 days and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area. I've stayed all over Indonesia. I had to cut my trip short, unfortunately, but I'll be back.

The rooms are even nicer than they look in the pictures, and the service is incredibly friendly. This place is awesome. Town does get a little slow during Ramadan.

A market just five meters from the hotel made it easy to pick up snacks before the ten-minute walk to the beach. The room had a balcony and was spacious and comfortable, though a little dirty in the corners. Once we reported that, staff cleaned it promptly. The owners and receptionist were very kind and helpful, even arranging a transfer to Bogor when we couldn't find a taxi. There were some insects and lizards around, which seems pretty common in Indonesia. The room was definitely worth the price, and we'd book here again if we return to the area.
