Grand Dian Hotel Cirebon

Tucked away from the main street, so it’s a good fit if you want a quiet stay. The rooms are nice and large, the hot water works well, and there’s plenty of parking. Breakfast could be better, and the Wi-Fi connection was poor, but it’s still a nice hotel.

The bathroom floor stayed wet and slippery because there was no shower partition. The bedding was old, grey, and stained. On our first day we found a gecko in the room, then later an army of ants. The next day, there was a cockroach wandering around on the coffee table. For a three-star hotel, this was deeply embarrassing, especially since I was traveling with a foreign friend. I definitely won’t stay here again.

The staff were nice, and the welcome ginger drink was a nice touch. The rooms are small, but there are food places nearby, as well as the main road, and the train station is about 2 km away. The toilet area is open, with no stall around the shower, so it stays wet.

Our six-person cycling group came from Bekasi and arrived early to explore the city. Raisa from the hotel helped us communicate, then after her shift she went with us late at night to a local food court and a great coffee place. Our bikes were safe in the garage, which gave us peace of mind while walking around. The hotel is in the heart of Cirebon, but about 50 meters off the busy main road, so the stay was more pleasant. It’s a good place for an overnight stay, with everything you need, even if the rooms aren’t very spacious or packed with amenities. It’s budget accommodation, but it didn’t feel like it. There are bigger, better-known hostels on the main road, though they have traffic noise. This one gives you what you need for the price.
