RedDoorz Syariah @ Griya Merbotan Demak

Parking out front is available for cars and motorcycles, but there’s only room for up to three cars. We stayed in the Lamar Deluxe, the largest room, and found the basic setup included a queen bed, a little table, folding chairs, a mirror, and a TV that was broken. The bathroom is in Berlin and has a sink, though the hot shower runs weakly and takes a while to warm up. It’s an old house, so the amenities are limited. A good location if you’re visiting Demak Mosque and the tomb of Raden Patah.

There was no hot water, the room had mosquitoes, and there wasn’t an AC remote. I checked out at 7 a.m. and left my TWS headset and hijab on the bed. When I came back at 10 to collect them, I got the hijab back, but not the headset. I asked to check the room and was told it had already been booked. At 10 a.m.? Does that make sense? Terrible, zero stars.

The room smelled bad and was noisy, with mosquitoes everywhere. There was no soap or hot water, and the AC didn’t cool the room. I checked out at 7 AM and later came back for my forgotten headset, but they said it wasn’t there even though it was. When I asked to check the room at 10 AM, they claimed it had already been booked. Definitely don’t stay here. Highly not recommended.

The photos looked nothing like the actual place, and the poor service made our family holiday miserable. The staff didn’t know how to handle check-in through the app, and we had little time to get home despite being there as a whole family. The room was stuffy and dirty, with dull floors and walls, blood on the musty sheets, and spider webs in every corner. Mosquitoes were everywhere and woke me up early. The bathroom was awful, with a moldy ceiling and webs all over it.
