Cove Matahari Guesthouse

I stayed for a month. The guest house does allow monthly rentals even in December, when other guest houses rent by the day, which was a plus. But the booking process was long and complicated, with 34 pages of agreement, and customer service could have responded more quickly. The room was alright, though very basic. The sheets and bed cover were poor quality and uncomfortable. The hallway floor was especially dirty; I saw a coffee spill left there for around a week. The cleaner came once a week but only cleaned and mopped the room floor, leaving the bathroom, especially the toilet and sink, dirty. The road to the guest house was in terrible shape, muddy and full of potholes. After days of rain it flooded, and the badly damaged road was a danger to people using it. For the price, a lot needs improvement: booking, the road, hygiene, sheets, pillows and bed cover. Bad.

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was fine, the AC was cold, and the bathroom was clean. They should improve the quality of the towels and bedsheets.

There were many dirty dogs coming into the lobby. The receptionist, “sandrin”, was very unpleasant and bitchy. I won’t stay here again. Please change the receptionist!

The rooms are decent, but noise made it hard to get a full night’s sleep. I could hear the receptionist and her friends talking, laughing and playing music in the lobby through the night. I wouldn’t recommend it if you need a full night of rest.
