They returned the money in the end, but were extremely rude and humiliated us in front of other people. The receptionist even tried to grab my phone from my hands. My friend and I had transferred 300k as requested, and the receptionist checked it, confirmed the payment, and handed us the key. Later, when we went out, he suddenly said the money hadn’t arrived. We transferred it again. Once he realized we weren’t stupid, he blamed us for not sending a screenshot, even though he’d never asked for one. Avoid this place at all costs. One of my worst experiences in Bali.

The bed is low, and the shower leaked a little. The linens weren’t completely clean, though I think they had been washed. The AC was cold, the hot water was fine, and there was a large fridge and nice wooden furniture. The Wi-Fi didn’t work. I’ll come back.

There were so many cockroaches in the room by 2 am, crawling all over and getting into my bags, that I gave up and left in the middle of the night. On arrival, I’d already seen blood stains on the dirty bed and some roaches in the bathroom. I was only staying one night, so I tried to put up with it, and asked for bug spray, but they said they didn’t have any.

Good service and a great place to rest. Pondok batur is the best, and I highly recommend it.
