Batulayar Bungalows

The staff were so kind and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. It’s a peaceful location too. I had a wonderful stay at Batu Layar Bungalow and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

We spent three days at this homestay on our first visit to Lombok, then returned for a week after Sumbawa. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The place is simple, the rooms are clean, and the price is affordable, but it’s the people who make it special. We spent evenings laughing and chatting with them, and felt part of their community. They’re renovating now, so it should be really cute once the work is done. We’d recommend it to anyone staying around Senggigi, and we’ll definitely come back someday.

Mice and bird droppings in the room. We booked through airbnb and had a disastrous stay. The room we’d booked was given to a friend of the hosts, so we ended up in a dingy, dirty room. The hosts weren’t there, leaving staff who seemed clueless to deal with the mess. The room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned, and the windows had no glass, so they were open and bugs could crawl in. The bathroom had mould and cockroaches everywhere. We saw several mice during our stay and found droppings too, as shown in the pictures. There were bird droppings in the room as well. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. There are plenty of better places nearby.
