It’s a small, home-like motel, quiet enough that you can hear birds singing in the morning. The bathroom especially needs refurbishment, and I found ants and other insects there. Breakfast was very basic. There’s a restaurant with an open patio and live music.

This is an old, classic hotel with a homey feel, and the Wi-Fi is strong. It’s near town, and at night the street around it gets crowded with food stalls and cafes with live music. Don’t expect too much from the food.

The garden sits in the middle of the rooms’ alley, and birds chirp happily in their fancy cages. It’s a cozy villa-style hotel. The dining room opens onto a shared space with a nice couch and a big-screen TV, so you can watch the news over breakfast. Replicas of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Monalisa, The Last Supper, and The Madonna of The Rock add an artsy feel. Pak Udin helped me. He was the older night-shift receptionist and bellboy, and was generous and helpful when I checked out early in the morning. He set up breakfast earlier that day. The ambience and hospitality warmed my soul, and I’d definitely like to stay again someday. Thank you, Centrum Hotel Pangkalpinang. Keep up the good work.
