Familie Ayu Hotel

We booked through Traveloka a month ahead, but at check-in the front desk said they had no record of our reservation. They blamed the app and other guests changing their dates instead of helping sort it out. Then they laughed and started playing games on their devices. I’ve never had a hotel ignore a booking like this or give such poor service. I know the price is low, but I expected the staff to at least try to keep things running smoothly. I wouldn’t recommend booking here unless you go in person and hope a room is free. They don’t seem to know how to work with Traveloka. Traveloka shows an 8/10 rating, which made this especially disappointing. I’d give it 3/10, and that’s being generous.

This may be one of the closest hotels to the city center, but it’s a one-star place with old, very traditional fixtures. The locks use iron keys, there’s only a fan and no AC, the bathroom is cramped, and the hot water didn’t work. Room 8 was the worst: street noise poured in through openings facing the road, and the window had only a curtain. I couldn’t stand it and left after a couple of hours.

It’s centrally located and easy to get to. I booked for my dad and husband through Traveloka and checked the listed facilities, but they were given a room without air conditioning. I never got an email notification about that. Luckily, I’d taken a screenshot of the payment proof. I’m not sure if the problem was with the hotel or Traveloka.

It’s basically a motel, so the price is cheap but you don’t get much. There’s hot water and Wi-Fi, with better reception on the first floor. It’s very noisy, and there’s no AC. You might get a fan if you’re lucky, though Garut is cool enough.
