For the price, this is great budget accommodation. I stayed in the deluxe bungalow and extended by two nights because it was such good value. Breakfast was free, with omelette or pancake, fruit, and coffee or tea. I also appreciated the hairdryer, fridge, air conditioning, and shelves in the spacious bedroom. There were mirrors in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bathroom was big, got natural light in the morning, and had a hot shower every day. Our room was cleaned halfway through our week-long stay. It was nice having breakfast outside among the flowers and aloe vera plants. There’s a mosquito net, but we didn’t need it and never spotted mosquitoes inside during the week. The beach and dive centers are just a few steps away. You can hear the call to prayer, but this is about as far away from it as you can get on the island, and it didn’t really affect our sleep. The hosts are a lovely family and always smiling. The wifi wasn’t as strong as I’d like, though that seems to be the case across the whole island.

The bed seemed comfortable and the bathroom looked spectacular, apart from the walls. Overall, the bungalows were decent, but could use some renovation. Some walls were scratched, the entrance door and furniture had wood that looked poor quality, especially in an area known for abundant high-quality wood and wood carving. The ventilation holes in the outside bathroom wall were irregular and looked scratched, and the glass in the entrance door was very dirty. We smelled smoke in our bungalow. The girl we spoke to was extremely nice and let us change rooms, but after a few minutes we could smell smoke in the new one too. The pillows smelled especially strongly, so we canceled the reservation. The host was really nice and understanding.

We asked for a non-smoking room for our two-night booking, but all the bungalows smelled like someone had smoked in them, even the sheets. They did let us cancel, thankfully, but it was still disappointing.

We loved it here. The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was good. It’s on the second row from the beach, so it’s quiet.
