Island View Bar & Bungalow

I only stopped in for sunset, not a stay, and visited twice. The staff were friendly. Paying at the cashier was fine with me, even though I had to go there myself. On my first visit I tried the Kangkung spinach dish, and it was so delicious for only 50k. I also had a Gili Gin Sling and a Whiskey Sour during happy hour. They brought another drink after I finished the first one, which I appreciated. On my second visit, both drinks came at once, which was fine too. The waiter wasn't very fluent in English. The grilled prawns I ordered the second time came with rice or potato and vegetables, but the vegetables were salad, which disappointed me a bit. All in all, it was fine, and I'd happily go again.

The rooms were really nice and had a good view, though there was a smell when I switched off the air conditioning. It wasn't terrible, just something I didn't like. Breakfast was the letdown. The smoothie bowls were almost warm because they were blended without ice, and the avocado toast was bad. There was no proper coffee machine, just regular Lombok coffee. The tea was drinkable, but the barista seemed inexperienced.

A good place to relax with a large group, especially because it's on a quiet, non-touristy beach. Breakfast was poor, though. The avocado toast had cheese, there weren't many drink choices, and the food lacked flavor.

The scenery is the only thing that might make a visit worthwhile. The food was a real disappointment: the garlic bread was dry, the soup bland, and the calamari rock-hard. They didn't even give us a menu at the start, and the service stayed poor. Most of the staff seemed either brand new or untrained.
