Such a special island, with no cars or bikes, clear warm water, and a gorgeous spot for sunrise. We’d stay here again. The rooms were clean but basic, and although the bathroom water was salty, we know that’s better for the environment, so that part is on us, but it did leave us feeling unclean. The location is beautiful and quiet, though there aren’t many food choices right there, with other restaurants nearby. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and took us on a great snorkelling trip where we saw a huge turtle and the underwater statues. We hired bikes, but one broke within five minutes and another had no brakes. I’d rent from somewhere close by instead.

The host took us snorkelling straight from the beach, and it was the best snorkelling I’ve ever done. Our hosts were incredibly welcoming, too. They put a mosquito net over the bed and lit a mosquito coil underneath it every night.

We came back to this family-run restaurant several times with our kids and always felt welcome. It’s a wonderful place beyond the accommodation, with fresh, delicious homemade food. The owner puts a lot of love into cooking, and everything tasted authentic. Don’t miss the coconut patties or green curry, both were amazing. A real gem on Gili Meno.

We thought it was very good value for money. The place is beautiful, and the basic accommodation had everything we needed, including strong air conditioning and a balcony with an ocean view. Blue Coral Bungalows is right by the beach, where you can snorkel and see lots of turtles. The owners are lovely and ready to help with anything, including arranging our transport to Lombok. Dinner at blue coral warung was the best Indonesian food we ate on the island. Highly recommend.
