Yaya House

I woke up with bites on both mornings after arriving, though I hadn't had any before, so I suspected bed bugs. I left after the second night. The owner said he'd look for them and refund me at least for the night I didn't stay, but he hasn't replied to my messages.

The beach is right outside, very clean, and a brilliant snorkelling spot. We saw loads of turtles and the sunset was the best we've seen anywhere in Indonesia, night after night. The location feels peaceful, with plenty of warungs and bars around, and it's only a 10-minute walk from the main pier. The bungalows have big rooms, balconies, and open-roof bathrooms where you can hear the waves. The restaurant and free breakfast were amazing, with lots of choices, from omelettes and jaffles to pancakes, plus coffee, tea, or shakes. Great value, lovely staff, and even beautiful cats the owners look after. We loved it so much we extended by two nights as soon as we arrived.

A room with air con and a mozzie net, plus a bathroom so close to the waves and those gorgeous shallows. The staff were laid-back, helpful, and friendly, and breakfast was decent. Great place.

A small fridge in the room and daily emptying of the bin would have been real improvements. The wifi worked okay, and breakfast was a simple buffet where you picked one dish and one drink. It's quiet and peaceful, with several good restaurants a short way off along the beach. The place is perfectly set beside the beach for snorkelling, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and nice but worn, simply furnished, and the aircon fortunately worked. The bathroom was worn but okay, the bedding was clean, and the bed was good. We were satisfied with our stay.
