Balumba

Balumba was the most chilled place I've stayed on my adventures. My boat schedule changed and I arrived close to midnight, but the host was flexible about check-in. They rented me a bike and set up surfing lessons, which were great and really enjoyable. It was such a pleasure staying there and meeting such amazing people. Thanks for having me! 🧡🙏😊

For the price, the room was nice and clean, and the host was lovely. They lent us bikes for free and even let us keep the room until the afternoon, though checkout is at 10:30am. It's not far from the main beach, but far enough that you don't hear the loud party. Loved it, and I'd stay again.

A real hidden gem in Gili. There were four of us, paying 200k per room for rooms at hotel standard, and we ended up staying for our whole visit. The staff were incredible, and with a rented bike, any beach is just a few minutes away.

The road there is in very poor condition, and it's far from the main attractions. The room wasn't well maintained, but the service was good. All in all, it was a pleasant, very cheap stay and a good fit for backpackers.
