It was a small, quiet place without many people around, so it suited us well. If you're after a wild party hostel, you'd probably want somewhere else. The place was clean, in a good spot, and the hosts, Nancy and Yannick, were really kind. We'd definitely recommend Calypso.
Nancy was nice, but the rooms were extremely hot during my stay. There was only one AC for the entire building, and just one bathroom shared by as many as 8 people. It wasn't super clean, though it was okay. Maybe things have changed since then.
Yannick and the staff were really friendly, and the beds and washroom were clean. I had an awesome stay at the hostel. If you need somewhere solid and inexpensive, I highly recommend it.
The owner was sweet, and you're close to the beach and main street. The clubs and bars are a block away, so the noise isn't an issue.
I stayed 3 nights on my trip and really loved this place. The owner is nice and it has a family feel. They were helpful too.
