Melati Cottage

This isn’t high-end, and the price reflects that, but I’d stay with Mr Matt and his crew again if I return to the islands. Mr Matt, the Manger, is friendly and knows his stuff. Breakfast on the beach was lovely, with a good selection. I had cabin 5 this time. The air conditioning worked well. There’s no hot water, though the water isn’t cold, so that was fine for me. The cabins are great. Blessings.

The best part was the staff. They were always smiling, friendly, and ready to help with anything. The kitchen made us amazing breakfasts each morning, which we ate in huts right by the beach. There were more menu options than at some other places we’ve stayed, but I chose the banana pancake with chocolate every day because it was too good to try anything else. We spent four nights at Melati, and I highly recommend it. The cottages are basic but have everything you need. The location was fantastic, about a 15-minute walk to both the northern beach and the harbor and night market. It’s far enough from the loud main area for a quiet night’s sleep, but still walkable.

This place was horrible, and the people weren’t nice. Flooding in BALI meant I couldn’t go, but they marked me as if I’d arrived and kept all my money. The cancellation policy said I’d get a 50% refund if I didn’t show up, but they denied it and recorded me as having stayed. Stay away.

We had a brilliant four-night stay. The family’s service was great, whether it was about food or a question that needed sorting out. Laundry, maintenance, and other things were handled quickly and smoothly. The beach is right opposite, and the food was great, especially breakfast. The beach by the cottages is the Turtle Point section, and they provide snorkels, GoPros, and other gear so you can swim with the turtles properly. Everything was great!
