Candra and the staff worked hard to keep the place clean, and Candra was very kind and welcoming. I loved the three kittens, and honestly wanted to stay longer for them, but one person in my dorm made me uncomfortable with some really weird vibes, so I left. The morning pancake was delicious, though it got repetitive after a while. I also found the blankets too small to cover me fully. Candra explained they use that size to keep laundry costs down, which I understand, but it was still inconvenient.

This is a place for chilling and relaxing, not partying. It felt calm from the moment we arrived, and the owner welcomed us and explained everything. The rooms, shared space and outdoor area were all well arranged, and our room was very clean. There are little tables and chairs outside the rooms, plus somewhere to hang wet clothes. Coffee, tea and water are free.

We arrived at 7 pm, an hour before the 8 pm check-in cutoff, but the owner greeted us rudely, without a hello or a smile. He laid out his rules, which we were prepared to follow, then said we could leave if we disagreed, in a haughty, disrespectful way. We chose not to stay, and he told us to “get out!” I've stayed in more than a hundred hostels and never felt so unwelcome. Avoid this place.

The owner made our stay easy with his friendly help and local tips, and his pancakes at breakfast were amazing. The accommodation was lovely, close to everything but quiet, and we had a great stay at The Hose Hostel.

The banana pancakes at breakfast were delicious, and the air-con was the best we’ve had on our travels. We stayed six nights, and Chandra was a fantastic, friendly host who gave us good food recommendations. The hostel had a nice atmosphere, just behind the main strip, and the rooms and shared areas were kept clean. We’d definitely stay again if we return to Gili T.
