Hotel New Melati

Do NOT book here!! The room was terrible, the bathroom sink was broken, and the whole place smelled like sewage. The TV didn't work, and breakfast wasn't included. They took my money even though I never stayed there and asked to cancel immediately. This place is an absolute scam.

The staff knocking at around 11 pm to borrow the aircon remote was a nightmare, and they still hadn't returned it by the next day. The toilet was awful too, filthy and with no wastafel. This is the most awful hotel I've ever visited.

Boy, the divemaster and guide, was a big help too. We got all the information we needed at New Melati Hotel, and within minutes Mr. Yan had arranged a shared car to Tentena and talked us through things to do in Gorontalo. He especially suggested whale-shark watching and said he'd take us only if a shark had already been spotted. We got lucky. He also made sure the car to Tentena picked us up at the hotel.

The garden was a nice touch, but the room seemed a bit shabby and could have been cleaned better. There are supposedly lots of travelers staying here, though I didn't find much of a lounge space to meet or spend time with them. Decent enough, but there’s room to improve.
