We got there around 8:50 in the morning, just before the mall opened at 9. Most shops were still getting set up, so we wandered around first and browsed before doing our shopping. There's a wide range of clothing with nice designs at affordable prices, though you need to bargain to get a better deal. Most stores want cash, while some take QRIS. Malaysians can also pay by QR with MAE. The main problem was the smoking. People were smoking openly inside this enclosed, air-conditioned mall, and the smell was strong and uncomfortable, especially if you don't smoke. It really hurt the experience, minus two points. It's an okay place for budget shopping, but the smoking brings the rating down.

Compared with Tanah Abang, this mall feels a little calmer and more spacious, with plenty to choose from. Prices are a bit higher, though going farther in can still turn up a bargain. There are also more elegant, classy options.

We spent hours at Thamrin City and barely noticed the time. It's huge and lively, with food stalls and shops all around, and the sellers were mostly friendly without being pushy. We found lots of good buys and felt the prices were worth it. There's so much to browse, from clothes and batik to tudung, fabric, bags, and souvenirs, all at affordable prices. Plenty of choices, enough to make your head spin 😂. It has that local Jakarta shopping feel and is a great place to hunt for deals and Indonesian products. We had a great time during our Jakarta trip and would come back next time. A good stop for tourists looking for affordable shopping.
