Cove Oekude Residence

The room and hotel didn’t look much like the photos. It was dusty, the bathroom was dirty and had no toilet paper, and the sheets and pillowcases were yellowed. One of the worst hotel stays I’ve had.

The main thing they need to improve is cleaning. I found hair on the floor and bed, and the bathroom needed a proper scrub. The room itself was big enough for a standard double, with a fridge, and both the TV and AC worked fine. Rajawali Station is nearby, and security guards were on site.

There were good security measures: cameras throughout, two gates, and at least two guards at the front gate. The back gate was kept locked, so we had to call someone to let us in. I felt safe, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Each room also had a large bed and a fridge. The area wasn’t very quiet, and the room looked older than the one shown online. The walls had lots of stains and needed paint. When I first entered, there was a strong smell, mostly like men’s sweat, and they should spray the room. The bathroom was dirty enough that I had to clean it myself, and there were lots of small cockroaches. The shower flow was weak and the hot water wasn’t hot enough. They set each room to the maximum voltage. I brought my own kettle for hot drinks, but using it caused a blackout.

The room itself had a comfortable bed, hot water, and working AC. But rain came pouring in overnight, leaking onto the bed and floor and soaking our bags. We were already on the train when Oyo cancelled our reservation. We arrived exhausted at around 9 pm and were told we couldn’t check in, even though the room was still available. They asked us to book online again at three times the price, but we refused because we had confirmation. We then waited in the lobby for over two hours while Oyo staff tried to sort out the booking. You’d probably be better off staying somewhere else.
