Hotel Istana Bungur

The few good moments were thanks to a female receptionist and a male room cleaner, both of whom were friendly and genuinely tried to help. Still, I'm counting down until I can leave. My two-week booking can't be refunded, so I feel stuck here. I chose the hotel because it was cheap, and regretted booking it. Staff struggled with English, making even simple conversations frustrating. My bed sheets and pillows were dirty, there was no hot water, and there was no WiFi in the rooms, so I had to go to the lobby to get online. Despite the no-smoking signs, the indoor air was thick with cigarette smoke, a serious problem for my asthma. I couldn't get the smoking issue addressed because of the language barrier with staff and other guests. I changed rooms twice and found more problems: water leaked through a ceiling, the power went out, and most rooms smelled strongly of cigarettes. There was air conditioning, but no window. This place fell far short of what I expected. If you're reading this, my advice is simple: run.

The receptionist was available around the clock and very helpful. But I found two cockroaches coming out of the bathroom, and the WiFi wasn't working properly when I visited.

A good place to stay.

Clean and nice, and the price was low. I really enjoyed it.
