RedDoorz Plus near Harmoni Gajah Mada

Mbak Siska was genuinely kind and helpful, and the location is handy, with plenty of cafes and places to eat nearby and Gajah Mada food street about a five-minute walk away. But the room and setup were a letdown. The walls had cracks and stains, the wardrobe was partly broken, and there’s no lift, kitchen, or laundry service. My room was on the top floor, so the stairs were a pain. With no kitchen, I had to buy food outside every time. I booked through RUKITA and feel misled by the listing. They called it an “Exclusive Kost” and said electricity was included, but at check-in I was told it wasn’t. I spent 400K on tokens that lasted one month, even though I used the AC only 6-7 hours a day and switched off electricity whenever I went out to save power. The house rules say to keep things quiet after 10PM (22.00), but people in Room 3.1 & 3.3 talked and laughed loudly enough to wake me. RUKITA also charged me an extra 200K for paying by credit card. As I understand it, Bank Indonesia says the 3% surcharge should be charged to the tenant, not the bank, and the money went to Rukita’s personal number rather than the bank’s account. If they don’t return that 3%, I won’t amend this review. Think twice, or three times, before staying here, especially if you’re booking through RUKITA.
