Royal Kuningan Hotel

I was here for my wedding at the hotel, and the stay turned out pleasant. The service was friendly, breakfast was okay, and parking is free if you ask the lobby staff to clear the ticket. The building is old, but it seems well looked after. There were a few specks of dust, though nothing major, and the room was in pretty good shape. Getting to public transport takes a bit of walking, but the location was fine for me. The cable TV is awful and could really use an upgrade to a smart TV. For the price, I felt it was money well spent at a well-maintained older hotel.

The food was great, and the service was good too. A little packet of unsalted butter would be a nice addition 🤭. The room was clean, with a nice view, and road noise barely came through. The pool is wide, and there’s a sauna and gym, all good features. Staff seemed seriously short-handed, though. It was really hard to find anyone around the pool, and I even had to ask another guest where the sauna was. Still, it was a pleasant stay.

I was in Room 1018 at Royal Kuningan Hotel from 25-27 December 2025, for a business trip with a one-day staycation mixed in. The view from the room wasn't especially appealing, though I imagine the right room type or facing could offer something nicer. The internet was slow and unstable. Streaming Netflix on my laptop took a lot of patience, so I ended up using my phone's mobile tethering. The TV isn't a Smart TV either, so Netflix couldn't be watched directly on it. Hot water was another drawback: it was only lukewarm, edging toward cold, which could be uncomfortable at night. The room itself was spacious for the type I booked, clean, and comfortable. The bed, bedcover, sheets, and pillows were clean, and there were two complimentary bottles of mineral water plus tea and coffee sachets. The bathroom was roomy and clean with complete amenities, and the towels were reasonably clean. Service was good when I asked for a prayer mat and sarong. The mat they brought was neat and good quality. I also borrowed a bowl and cutlery, and those arrived clean. On arrival, though, the first key card didn't work at all. A room service staff member helped me get the door open, then another staff member replaced the card fairly quickly after I reported it. Royal Kuningan Hotel has clean, spacious rooms and basic facilities that suit a business stay. Better hot water, faster and steadier internet, TV features, and more appealing room views would improve the experience.

The pool and its view are excellent. I've stayed here three times now. The room is great, and there's a nice little gym and sauna. Just no smart TV.
