Royal Palm Hotel & Conference Center Cengkareng

We did end up liking the room, though it wasn't the cleanest. The food was nice, but only Indonesian food. The overall experience was nice 😊. At first I wasn't sure about this hotel. It seemed old, crowded, dark, and not modern. We had to wait until check-in time because the rooms were full, then sat for an hour before a staff member finally gave us a key. The hallway smelled like an old man's hair perfume. The hotel needs renovation beyond the lobby, and the way new visitors are greeted needs work too, especially when you're told to wait even longer.

The location works well, not right in the middle of the attractions but not far from the airport either. My fifth-floor view of the city's north side was amazing. It rained while I was there, which made it a hundred times better. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly. Breakfast was average, maybe because the photos had given me higher expectations, but it wasn't bad.

This isn't a place I'd recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant stay. The hotel looks old and poorly maintained, with lots of stains on the floor and bedsheets. I found a small bug by the closet too. Deluxe rooms have no non-smoking option, and upgrading to a non-smoking room costs a lot. Cigarette smoke mixed into the air we were breathing, making it unpleasant and hard to breathe. I also think hotel staff are intentionally boosting the Google reviews with five stars to attract more guests and increase sales.

It can be a good option if you need a hotel near CGK. It’s about 30 minutes away, with plenty of dining choices around. The staff are friendly, professional, and quick to serve guests, and the bathroom was clean and worked well. The furniture isn't well maintained, and breakfast service wasn't ready to handle many groups at once.
