Urbanite at Kemang Hotel

I’ve already been here two months and still have three to go, but I’m really not looking forward to them. Urbanite could work well for a backpacker spending a few days in Kemang: it’s in a great spot with restaurants and bars nearby, and the hotel isn’t too busy. For a longer stay, I’d strongly suggest another place. The location is good, but the service is mostly bad. The people running the hotel can’t speak English, which leads to a lot of miscommunication. Laundry costs a reasonable amount and is supposed to take three or four days, but most of the time it takes over a week. A bigger problem is that things go missing. One of the women cleans rooms now and then, and she left mine a mess and took some basic things I needed. Other guests have lost a phone, clothes, and more. There’s also a public kitchen, but it’s poor quality, barely equipped, and far from clean. The hotel has one shared fridge, so you’d think food labeled with your name would be safe. Instead, things keep disappearing. One day it was eggs, another day milk, and one guest even lost half a cake. The rooms are really dirty, too, and about half the time something is wrong with the AC or water. After a while, that gets very annoying. With all these problems, I’d tell people to look for another hotel.
