The staff made our stay especially easy. Before our Mount Raung hike, they gave us lots of useful advice and kept our bikes and valuables while we were away. When we returned, they offered complimentary tea and tips for seeing the area. The resort itself is lovely, with a big pool, a spacious outdoor area, a river and peaceful views. Our room felt a little dated but was comfortable. We loved Mount Raung, which was the highlight of our time in Java and even better for us than Ijen. Foreign visitors don't seem to come to this area as much, but we'd definitely recommend Margo Utomo Hill View Resort.

A calm place to spend the night, and the pool was nice for a refresh. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room wasn't anything special, but it had what we needed.

The river and tropical forest make for a beautiful setting, but that's about the main thing this hotel has going for it. The pool was dirty, breakfast was very sparse, and the rooms are basic. The shower felt like one from a one-star campsite in Europe. I only noticed afterward that it's a two-star hotel, so maybe I expected too much.

The toilet in this old hotel wouldn't flush, and the doors were broken and couldn't be locked. I also waited a long time for a simple mie rebus, even though there were only two of us in the restaurant.

A nice way to get away from the city noise, with a cool climate and lots of greenery around the cottages. The setting is close to nature, so don't be surprised if you spot ants or other insects in your room. Breakfast was poor, though. The rooms have no air conditioning and there's no elevator. The buildings have traditional decor, with two villas in each building. I liked the large bathroom, which has a natural feel, and there's a swimming pool too.
