Royal Ocean View Beach Resort

The staff were tidy, well presented, and really friendly. Our room was clean, looked out onto a great view, and was very nice. We paid for dinner and breakfast, and both were delicious with plenty to eat. We never had to go elsewhere or left hungry. I’d recommend it.

I loved staying here, and the service was the best I’ve had. The only drawback was getting there. The road could be better, though I guess hidden gems tend to be isolated.

The beach view and sunrise were among the best I’ve seen, and the room itself was clean. But I was very disappointed by the food. It was bad and didn’t seem fresh, and I got diarrhea after breakfast here. Service also felt unprofessional: it took an hour to bring extra shampoo, then they said they’d forgotten it. The building seemed old and not very well maintained. It’s also quite far from the center, and access by road and electricity can be challenging.

We went to Karimunjawa for a short diving certification visit and booked Royal Ocean View mainly because it was conveniently close. Being farther north than the center made the area wonderfully peaceful, and the surroundings are stunning. This resort is head and shoulders above the other island options, and we had an extremely wonderful stay. Anam was so patient and lovely with all my questions. He helped book dinner, find a hairdryer, and arrange a snorkel trip that worked with our tight schedule. Everyone on staff was friendly and genuine. We also enjoyed the ocean view from the dining area, plus the pool and lounge space. I’d highly recommend it, and if we get back, we already know where we’ll stay. Thank you!
