Villa Jamalu by Nakula

Jamalu Villa in Jimbaran was a dream stay for me. I especially loved the huge private pool, whether I was cooling off in it or just relaxing beside it in the Bali sunshine. The villa is well placed for exploring Bali's cultural and natural attractions, and its balcony has stunning views of the beach and sunset. Inside, the four bedrooms blend Balinese charm with modern comforts. The beds and furnishings were cozy, and I slept really well. I also loved waking up to the peaceful atmosphere and distant sound of the waves. The upper floor has an elegant living room and kitchen with an open layout and lots of natural light. The kitchen is fully equipped, though I often went for in-villa dining and the personal chef service to enjoy delicious Balinese food without cooking. There was plenty to do in the evenings too. Having a PlayStation and Bilyard was fun with family or friends, and the gym was great for keeping up with my fitness routine on vacation. I can’t wait to return to this slice of paradise in Jimbaran. Highly recommended!

We spent May 2023 at Villa Jamalu with a group of close friends and loved it so much that we tried to book four more days after our boat trip. It was already fully booked. Our only regret was not spending longer at the villa. We’ll be back! Set at the highest point of the Temple Hill Grand Residence gated community, the spacious villa has four en-suite bedrooms and uninterrupted panoramic views across Jimbaran Bay. From the shaded terrace and its comfy couches, we enjoyed evening cocktails and incredible sunsets, with views towards Bali's highest western peaks. The villa has recently been updated and has new ownership. Its gardens are beautiful and well kept, the pool is enormous, and there are plenty of places to gather. With four staff on duty each day, we were well looked after and everything was spotless. Breakfast was a delicious spread of Western and Asian favourites. We chose a little of each, served family-style on the big table each morning, with eggs cooked to order. Wayan, the chef, is currently attending culinary school. With a day's notice, he’s happy to make an evening feast and share what he’s learning. Our schedule was too packed to try that, so next time, Wayan! Dika, the villa manager, was always available and incredibly helpful. Restaurant menus showed up on my phone within seconds of asking, reservations were made quickly, and transport was organised and waiting at the door at exactly the right time. We had such a lovely time at Jamalu. Well done!

We had such a good time here, enjoying all sorts of tasty fresh food prepared for us and wonderful service. The place is peaceful, with a view across the bay and mountains in the background, yet close to everything you need. It’s a lovely spot to relax and do very little. We enjoyed the clear pool and evenings with friends in the cozy sitting area beside it.

It’s big, lovely and spacious, and the pool is clean. But one room had faulty air conditioning, and another had two broken taps. The PlayStation didn’t work, the internet was very slow, and phone reception was poor. There aren’t any phones to call the staff, so you have to shout down to the basement where they are to get help.
