Villa Krisna Balangan by OYO Rooms

We booked for two weeks but left after just one night. The room smelled strongly of mould, the wifi barely worked, and there were ants all over the bathroom and bugs on the bed. Spiderwebs were everywhere, and the space under the bed looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years, like the rest of the room. There was no toilet paper or soap, and someone else's shaving hair was still in the bathroom. An absolutely horrid place. Avoid at all costs.

When I stayed, no one else was there, so it felt like having a private villa. The pool and kitchen were lovely, the place was clean and comfortable, and the staff were very nice and attentive. My room was very dark, though, and the dogs barking and cats screaming could get loud at night. It was good for a night or two.

The location felt creepy, especially after sunset, when it seemed like we were stuck there. Next door is a Balinese house with about 5-6 very aggressive dogs. The housekeepers said there was nothing to be done except be careful. I wouldn't know how they'd react to someone on foot, so a car or scooter seemed safer. I think we were in room no 1. The mirror was broken, the bathroom door wouldn't close, and the shower had no hot water, although the sink did. The pool didn't look clean, and the room itself was disappointing compared with the pictures. The water pump kept filling and made a sound like whistling or shouting, so sleep was impossible without earplugs. Housekeeping staff were nice, but the bathrooms could use a deeper clean. I guess not cleaning well after every guest is a Bali thing.

I'm writing this at 3am, halfway through my booked stay, and I'm leaving as soon as the sun comes up. Every morning I've woken with insect bites, some from mosquitoes and others from different bugs. The air conditioning is weak and doesn't work properly. Chickens, ducks, and dogs all around the place make so much noise that sleeping is impossible. This is the worst place I've stayed in in Bali. I'm going anywhere else.
